Avoiding a conventional double-loaded corridor layout, an innovative solution was developed that increased density while creating a series of private courtyards for residents. Phase 1 comprises of 103 residential units, retail space and indoor parking spaces. Upper floors create a pattern of repetitive forms that reference the eclectic nature of the surrounding neighbourhood while retail storefronts provide an animated geometry that define individual shops and provide a pedestrian scale streetscape. The project was awarded the 2018 Development of the Year by the Investment Property Owners Association of Nova Scotia.
