Fundy Quay is a four to five building mixed use master plan, reactivating a disused wharf in the heart of Saint John’s Uptown and Waterfront. Lydon Lynch designed the Master Plan to create active, urban retail and restaurants at-grade facing Water Street to the East, and the newly-rehabilitated public ‘Harbour Walk’ to the South and West, and ‘Market Slip Plaza’ to the North. Parking and services are centralized to maintain active pedestrian realms around the perimeter, and residential, hotel, and office, and public amenity space fill the towers above grade. The first building, on the SW corner is a six story residential building on the waterfront with active commercial frontage facing Habour Passage. The second building, on the SE corner, includes an 11-storey residential tower over a 5-storey mixed-use podium. The podium is broken into differently articulated brick masses, to reflect the scale and rhythm of the heritage district across the road.
